Re: Tales of the Talladega Curse
If the smaller engines got too fast, N-CAR could simply dictate lower compression ratios within the engines, thereby reducing horsepower and slowing the cars back down. Of course the irony of all this is probably most people anymore watch these races at 'dega&tona because they love to watch all ...

Re: Tales of the Talladega Curse
Funny thing about plate racing ...... I came up with a solution for it years ago, but anybody I'd tell it to told me I was crazy. Ya see, the reason for the plates is to reduce the horsepower of those engines. Without the plates they are capable of speeds over 200 mph. Think about this ..... a Boein...

Re: Tales of the Talladega Curse
I think the reason I followed Blake's story so closely back then was because I considered her a victim on the on-track shenanigans going on between those drivers. Sanctioning Bodies should never tolerate racecars being utilized as weapons of retaliation. There is just too much at stake to allow it. ...

Re: Tales of the Talladega Curse
PattyKay google the name Blake Bobbitt. Every time they go to "dega I'm reminded of her and her ordeal after the 2009 race.
Re: Irma
Indeed they did hold races there Alenigma, during the 70's and early 80's, Nascar, Indycar and ARCA. I never attended a race there. From what I've heard, the biggest problem was its location in east-central Texas, far from any major metropolitan area. I don't think they ever attracted the large crow...

Re: Ask Ashley
OK, I figured out how to do it. It took a while of trial and error and resizing the photo in my pic file, but I did actually post a photo from my PC's photo file. It is currently posted in the Lobby's IRMA thread. IF I can do it, it can't be too difficult.
Re: Irma
