History Holds the Back Story ~ RPM
Good morning SHR Garage Gang! It's Friday and that usually means a new article from me. This week you're getting it before Twitter, not because I'm playing favorites, but because I haven't gotten over there yet. Many posts to answer already and I selfishly took yesterday afternoon off for a pedicur...

OMG! So have I! That was THE place to go for a fish fry on Friday! Boarded my horses just up the road at Lemcke's! We lived on Burritt Road. This is like a Western NY convention!

Re: Another NASCAR FUBAR Moment or 3!
Oh, I totally agree with you, but I have to try not to write a War and Peace-length novel and call it a column. Folks that know me personally will attest that I never stop talking, and almost every word is racing. There's never been a time like this though. You say it's dying a slow death. Stand by...

Re: Who's gonna fill the #10 seat in '18?
I'm very familiar with the Thousand Islands area. We fished every inch of it, and I'm being quite factual there. Our favorite though, was up beyond, at Black Lake. We drove up there every chance we got. Other places we frequented "back in the day" were Clayton, Alex Bay, Chaumont Bay and ...

Just noticed your location says Webster NY. I'm from Hilton! (Rottenchester originally) Cut my racing teeth at Spencer Speedway when it was still dirt!

Another NASCAR FUBAR Moment or 3!
Did everyone catch the fiasco that passed for a race at Richmond last Saturday night? Like everyone else with a keyboard, that is what I wrote about this week. >CAVEAT< If you're a fan of Brain Z. France, you don't want to read this. If you're a fan of stock car racing, you definitely do! [urlhttp:...

Re: Who's gonna fill the #10 seat in '18?
Sorry! Carl Haas is IndyCar. I'm old! I confuse easily. I didn't mean he should fund a 5th car. I was talking about the #10. That driver will be the choice of Smithfield, and I suspect it's already been made without consulting any of us. Funny how that happens, isn't it?

Re: Who's gonna fill the #10 seat in '18?
We only have part of the story, so we really can't turn any of it into a sure thing. One reality I will promise though. Unless Carl Haas is up to sponsoring yet another car, the choice of driver is entirely up to Smithfield. Whoever is their choice is who will be in the car. That's the reality of t...
