received training to deal with that stuff when I was in law enforcement … not to worried about it, I have taken it in the face on purpose and by accident by a fellow officer when he did not say he was going to use it.

The supervisor thought he was aiming it towards the criminals we had been chasing...instead he had hit six out of ten of us officers directly in the face. We were chasing four criminals along side the highway. This was back before tasers were in use in most departments.

I think every person should go through it who carries it so they know what it is like for the person on the receiving end of the stuff. For some people this stuff can be deadly.

I remember going to the Richland County impound yard, back in "97 when I drove a wrecker. No one was in the office. I went outside again and I could hear grown men crying. I found everybody behind the building. It looked like 35 defensive linemen dunking for apples in a huge water trough. Lots of coughing, crying, and cursing going on!
I finally found the officer in charge and he informed me that these men were getting their certification to carry pepper spray. They had to be able to live after having it used on them!
Richland County also made
all of their officers be tased before issuing them tasers.
