I got a call from my mom today. She said she needed to talk to me about something. It was about her cat whom we have taken care of off and on for about 10 years. He is an older Maine Coon, 16 years old. He has some spinal column issues and they were told to with meet with a specialist it would cost $300 and then to run some tests it would cost $1000 and then to heal him of these issues it could cost about $7000. My dad with his sense of humor says I am going in for the same tests next week, is there some sort of family discount...two for the price of one? Oh my word? Who let him in the room? Our doctors buildings are attached, maybe we could work out some sort of arrangement. He is a member of the family after all. I am sure we get him covered under my insurance and nobody would know the difference....Oh sure dad.

SLEEPING WITH BOB

The guys were all at a deer camp. No one wanted to room with Bob because he snored so badly. They decided it wasn't fair to make one of them stay with him the whole time, so they voted to take turns.

The first guy slept with Bob and comes to breakfast the next morning with his hair a mess and his eyes all bloodshot. They said, "Man, what happened to you?

He said, " Bob snored so loudly, I just sat up and watched him all night."

The next night it was a different guy's turn. In the morning, same thing, hair all standing up, eyes all bloodshot.

They said, "Man, what happened to you? You look awful! He said, 'Man, that Bob shakes the roof with his snoring. I watched him all night."

The third night was Fred's turn. Fred was a tanned, older cowboy, a man's man. The next morning he came to breakfast bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. "Good morning!" he said. They couldn't believe it. They said, "Man, what happened?"

He said, "Well, we got ready for bed. I went and tucked Bob into bed, patted him on the butt, and kissed him good night. Bob sat up and watched me all night."

With age comes wisdom.

What an idiot!!!! Back in '67 when I was 8, I knew buses ran on diesel. This fool would be better-off giving-up on a life of crime.

Up here in the 70s and 80s, most school buses ran on gasoline and just a handful ran on diesel. Now most, not all, run on diesel. We still have some that are older than 15 years of age that run on gasoline.

Down here, all the buses were gas powered until the 90's. We still have some here with 30 years on them. We have got some sorry politicians down here. To top that, they raise fuel taxes every year and I'm still dodging the same potholes! To quote the late Jerry Reed, "Now I know it may sound funny, but it hurts too much to laugh"

Next store to my brother's shop are two mechanical shops. Eddie, the owner of the closest one walked into our shop last Friday and said he needed to use our vise. My brother asked what was wrong with his vise. His reply, I broke it. WTF! He is certified to work on any car made, yet he broke his vise???? I just want to know HOW?

Apparently our Department Head of Transportation in our school system is way better than most places as he and his assistant are able to get us on average, anywhere from 2 to 4 brand new buses, using federal grand money so that our local taxpayers never have to pay for them. The people paying for them could be from anywhere else in the country. You look at our fleet of buses and have some of the newest buses in the state. Our oldest one is currently 10 years old with about 500,000 miles on it. It is up for replacement this year.

Our mechanics are all certified to do warrantee work so school systems around us are not having to send their buses hours away when somebody within just minutes can do the work and it brings in extra income to our district instead of some dealership who sold the bus. We also have certified mechanics who work on several different automakers of buses which gives us the same benefit at a higher rate of return.
