Someone PLEASE explain this to me

:s_dunno Sam's Club at Southpark Mall in Colonial Heights, VA is $2.34 :s_omg
Everyone else within the Mall area are between $2.55 and $2.59 (and that's 7 other stations)

Are bulk tank bottoms that much cheaper? :s_rofl

sometimes the larger the inground storage facility the lower the price because it cost them less per gallon to buy, lets say twenty or thirty thousand gallons at a time vs eight to ten thousand at a time. I remember when I used to sell k-1 and #2 heating oil I would wait until I was down to about 10,000 in the ground and then place an order for 25,000 gallons of each as it would cost less per gallon than smaller deliveries of the same product. The same with gasoline, but I would wait until I got down to 5,000 gallons and order 30,000 at a time. I had 40,000 gallon tanks for all of my products...regular, midgrade, super, diesel, k-1, and heating oil. I also watched what the price per gallon and if I saw things starting to spike I would buy at the lowest point possible, even if it meant a smaller load than normal for my location so this way I was not having to sell at a higher price than need be.

I'm sure you know about sticking tanks. Back in the "80s, I was working in a bad part of town and some of the convenience store owners treated all customers as if they were bad people. When I left a band gig at 2 in the morning, I would drive past their store and see that they were closed. I knew where to find their sticks. The owner or manager would find their stick in five or six pieces the next morning. I saw $2.49 on the west side of the river going and coming. On the other side, $2.43. I'm gonna get some on the way to work tomorrow on the east side. There's a storm a'brewin.!!!!

I remember working for a full service station that I was the manager of and being so sick at one point that my district supervisor took over for me and fired everybody. I was new to the job and the entire crew was that of the old manager. So it gave me the opportunity to hire a new crew, I hired mostly friends and a couple of them were really good looking teenage girls. At the time we were selling gas for 89 cents a gallon and were about the most expensive place around and had lines going down the street in every direction. My location was across from Pratt and Whitney in North Berwick. I guess you could say they were not coming to visit me. Then I also hired a couple of really good looking teenage guys too to keep the women happy. Sales at this location had never been so good.

I feel pretty much pranked for filling-up Friday after work...$2.55/gal. I stayed home Monday and hauled off some yard debris in Pop's truck. Tuesday, all the stations prices had dropped 20 cents a gallon. Today I saw a price of 2.29/gal. SMH!!!!
