Splitter Crackdown Leaves Cup Teams Scrambling In First Dover Practice

Post by HiddenHollow »

NASCAR inspectors cracked down on splitters Friday at Dover International Speedway and it left Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series teams scrambling to get on track for practice.

Officials were looking to ensure teams had a flat splitter on the front of their vehicles. But the thorough process resulted in teams being stuck in the inspection line as practice began. Only half of the field had made it on track by the time the session (which was 50-minutes in length) was 30 minutes old. All cars did get on track before the session’s conclusion.
