Re: Goooood Morning SHR - Monday
I lost my Pop January 3rd - same year...my birthday. He was on a feeding tube and only left the house for Dr. visits. We were always careful to mask-up and use hand sanitizers, so it wasn't covid. The Coroner said it was acute renal (kidney) failure.

Re: Goooood Morning SHR - Monday
because we were so close to the hospital, less than a mile away and could be to our house, at the time, in less than 5 minutes. The doctors and nurses would come by and check on my wife's dad weekly. We got to know what was normal and what was not. Good thing I come from a family of doctors and nurses and such. The things you learn from aunts and cousins who are doctors and nurses. They spent so much time up here taking care of my mom for so many years off and on that you learn more than a few things.

Re: Goooood Morning SHR - Monday
My wife and I have learned more about medical issues than we ever wanted to know dealing with elderly relatives. My last Aunt passed last October at 91 from a combination of cardiac and respiratory failure, plus her dementia had gotten really bad. All of my older relatives are now gone.

Re: Goooood Morning SHR - Monday
We have lost 3 relatives in the past nine months, 2 uncles and an aunt, as to which I have spoken at two of the funerals and brought a message as to which I have been told my message was better than that of the Pastor of the local church. While I feel blessed by those comments, I also feel bad for those that come before me.

You've had a rough 9 months. My deepest sympathies.

Thank you, and yup it has been. Only one of them got me by surprise. That uncle wanted me to deliver a message. That one I had one message planned and it went completely off the rails about half way through. But that may have been why I was asked to deliver a message at my aunt's funeral.

I have lost quite a few family members and loved ones over the last few years...I feel your pain and grieve with you.
Yet, I thank the Lord every day when I arise. I always tell Momma that I love her.

It's not Monday, but I'm just checking in since it's been a long time. Just saying hi.
