You can't use rain tyres on a superspeedway....but floatation devises might help.

They will also be showing an ELECTRIC car. What has become of our sport with electric cars? Won't be long that you'll have a (Cup Racing) controller, operator of controller. No other ppl needed cause tires will be made of a special Kevlar compound. No need for gas man, it's electric.Annalee wrote: ↑Fri Apr 19, 2024 10:51 pm IROC IS BACK…..

Re: Official Garage Gang Hangout Raceday Points Club II
water and electricity don't mix...they are going to need a different mix of chemicals to put out those car fires and even then, those are going to be a whole bigger mess to clean up. You thought a gasoline engine fire was a challenge to clean up, try cleaning up a battery powered vehicle because those can burn for hours after you thought it was out.
This info from the fire chief in North Conway who dealt with three of them on Mount Washington last year. Just when they thought the fire was out, it reignited itself a few hours later and then several hours after that. They do use Class D chemical to extinguish this type of fire, but the fire starts in one cell and spreads from there. The problem when you attack this type of fire, you may put out the fire in these cells, the cells can heat up and spread to others. You actually have to get all the cells into a cold state and you can't use something similar to dry ice because this will cause the cells to leak and then you have a totally different problem altogether.
This is why Toyota is experimenting with a battery cell that does not use lithium battery cell for charging and recharging, it uses a series of microchips and when one microchip goes bad all you have to do is replace that chip. They are testing it in Japan right now and it will be about five years before they do mass production into all vehicles in other countries. They are looking to try this in a racing series in Japan in a year or so and Toyota will be the guinea pig for this experiment. They want to see how fast, for how long, and what happens to the battery in a wreck for those in a lithium battery and those using the microchips so they can see the differences in performance and damage and injury or worse.
I wonder how much they are going to pay these guinea pigs to be these drivers knowing they could die in this experiment.

Re: Official Garage Gang Hangout Raceday Points Club II
In the next subdivision, someone bought a new electric …..Took it out for a drive, came home and parked it in the garage….It caught fire and the whole house burned to the ground in ten minutes…It was an all brick house..The family was able to escape…The fire department said it was the hottest fire that couldn’t be put out because water just made the fire worse…You couldn’t give me an electric car….After seeing that ..
I also think this is why you are hearing rumors of Tony Stewart selling his charters…
