Re: Gasoline Prices
Well it certainly has been an interesting week on the market for gasoline prices as we hit a high of $4.3260 and are now down to $3.8241 and still dropping as I type this.
However the price of gas continues to climb even though the past 7 days the prices have dropped. The thing about the market is that it usually takes about 30-60 days for us to see these decreases but we see the increases overnight, yeah figure that one out. Well, we don't really need to. The local gas stations have to pay off the supply that they have in the ground that they bought at those high prices and can't sell to us at a lower price until they get a load at a lower price which means the tank farms or pipe lines have to send it through or receive deliveries of massive amounts at those lower prices which is not going to happen for awhile.
Example I bought some in North Conway the other day $4.88 per gallon but in Bridgton it is $5.21...there is a massive difference in highway taxes between the two states. That is a 33 cent a gallon difference and that is the entire highway tax in Maine alone on gasoline.

Re: Gasoline Prices
Ya'll be complaining about the prices, just wait till you visit the UK! The current average per litre of fuel is £1.91 for petrol and £1.98 for diesel

Re: Gasoline Prices
in terms we can understand that means they pay $7.22 per gallon in the UK for gasoline and $7.48 per gallon for diesel.
There are places in the US that are paying more than that on the West Coast of the US and my family in Guam are paying close to what you are paying in the UK.

Re: Gasoline Prices
Our high on the market this week was $3.7403...our low for the week which was Wednesday was $3.2150 and today our low was $3.3481
Retail in our area varies greatly in our town. A high of $4.99 to a low of $4.69 and discount cards push it lower than that.

Re: Gasoline Prices
Around here regular ranges from $3.94 to $4.50/gal. I get less MPG with the cheap stuff. Who knows what is in it?
