Prayers go out to the Bush Family and Friends on the passing of George H.W. Bush.
I met the man when he was Vice-President and had the chance to get reacquainted with him when he was President. I know a lot of locals had this privilege as he and Barbara were a fixture in the community of Arundel, Kennebunk, Wells, and Kennebunkport.
I remember going out with our kids in a youth program that was a summer camp program as a teenager and during low tide that we were able to walk out to Walker's Point from a local island. We planned the whole thing out so as to get approval from the Secret Service.
Some years later he became my customer where we supplied diesel fuel for his generators and heating oil for the home. Myself and my drivers had to go through the highest of background checks to get onto the compound. I also remember the bomb checks they would do before allowing us onto the property. Some things you never forget. But what a beautiful place.
Rest in peace George Herbert Walker Bush. I wonder if one of his sons was there to help.
I doubt it. That family only cares about themselves.
Oh, and their political gains.

Do me a favor and keep your sour political feelings to yourself and allow the rest of us to grieve who would like to in peace. He had friends and family surrounding him when he passed. Mr Bush was already making plans to return to Maine next summer. He will be seriously missed each summer by those who knew him. He was surrounded by two of his sons, their wives, several grandchildren, and many friends when he passed. You could only hope for this much when the Lord takes you home. Show some respect.
I guess you could say I have strong feelings when it comes to the Bush Family because the Barbara Bush Childrens Hospital saved my daughters life when she was 9 years old. She is alive today because of this hospital.
This hospital is named for Barbara and she, George, and other friends and family members have donated many great items to this hospital to help in the care for New England's youngest little people.
Beav, I was wrong to say what I said. I simply don't like "career" politicians.
The recently deceased President Bush, wasn't a career politician, in fact he served on a lot of different committees before ever running for office. Once again, I was wrong. I apologize.
I spent several years myself working on different town committees before being elected to office. After awhile I started having a hard time living with some of the stuff I had to do, so I got out.
I have been surrounded by politics all of my adult life by some powerful people.
