I listen on the scanners…..There is a 10 second delay from the TV to the scanner…Its the only way I would watch a race….You know what is happening before it happens….You get to hear info from driver, spotter, crew chief and pit crew..plus MRN radio…It is not expensive, but it sure makes the race much more interesting…They have way to many commercials…..Scanner listening NO COMMERCIALS….With the scanner you can hear race coverage even during the commercials…Race planning, tire usage, pit crew problems, race strategy is planned out…Scanner picks up driver to spotter strategy….It was interesting listening when Denny, Larson and Bowman came down pit road at the same time….They were not happy with each other…..Some of the pit crews use coded messages to tell the driver what they are going to do and no one else can listen in and figure it out….HiddenHollow wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 7:22 am Is it just Mrs HH and I or is NASCAR getting boring? The races, the Gen 7 car and the current crop of drivers are all blah to us. We are rapidly losing interest. It's sad. Maybe we're just old school. (sigh)
The booth gets caught up in race trivia…The bantering back and forth is somewhat entertaining, it gets old in a hurry…The camera misses a lot of what is going on during the race, because it focuses only on the leader and not the individual drivers in the back of the field….You can understand more of why your driver is not doing well or why he is leading the pack….It is something you can try…I couldn’t watch a race without it…..Go to Nascar.com…Scanner..Try it I think you will like it…
